The primary focus of this position is to lead performance improvement efforts at our Hayward Service Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Hiring, training and overseeing dock workers to ensure shift runs efficiently

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year accredited college or university preferred

The primary focus of this position is to track, communicate, coordinate and update needed information to ensure loads are arriving timely.

Responsibilities:

  • Load Tracking
  • Anticipating potential problems and addressing accordingly
  • Coordinating and communicating with vendors
  • Recording activities

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.
  • Minimum of two years transportation industry experience required.
  • Knowledge of transportation technology a must.

PART-TIME DOCKWORKER/FORKLIFT OPERATORS – LOS ANGELES, CA (Evenings and Weekends)

Primary focus of this position is to manually load and unload freight with the use of a pallet jack, hand truck or forklift, adhering to all dock safety regulations regarding the movement of freight with designated equipment. Furthermore, the dock worker is to follow all standard operating procedures regarding the completion of dock paperwork and dock cleanliness.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-tripping forklifts
  • Pre-loading and posting unloading trailer inspections
  • Safely unloading freight from trailers either using a forklift or manually
  • Safely loading freight into trailers either using a forklift or manually
  • Ensuring that freight moved matches all aspects of the associated movement bill or cross dock
  • Complying with all aspects of dock paperwork procedures while moving freight
  • Ensuring that the dock and associated areas are kept clean
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area and safe environment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of one year prior experience required.
  • Prior hostling experience highly desirable.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift.
  • Forklift certified preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.

TRANSPORTATION OWNER/OPERATORS- Los Angeles

Daylight Transport is seeking Owner/Operators for local city pick-up and delivery at their Los Angeles Terminal. At Daylight Transport we focus on medium and long haul traffic. Our two-man sleeper team direct services can have the largest positive impact on our customer’s bottom line.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-tripping forklifts
  • Pre-loading and posting unloading trailer inspections
  • Safely unloading freight from trailers either using a forklift or manually
  • Safely loading freight into trailers either using a forklift or manually
  • Ensuring that freight moved matches all aspects of the associated movement bill or cross dock
  • Complying with all aspects of dock paperwork procedures while moving freight
  • Ensuring that the dock and associated areas are kept clean
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area and safe environment

Requirements:

  • Proven safety record
  • Minimum two year’s tractor trailer/bobtail experience
  • Hazmat Endorsement
  • Own or have the capability of purchasing your own equipment
  • Pass background check, drug and alcohol test
  • Meet all DOT requirements
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record with valid Driver License
  • Felonies are determined on a case by case basis
  • Must be able to lift, load and unload 50lbs or more
