Job Title:  Accounts Payable Specialist   
Department:  Accounting

SUMMARY: Primary focus of position is to enter and process accounts payable transactions in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Create suppliers/vendors in Oracle and Truckmate.
• Maintain supplier sites and bank information.
• Enter, correct, and update invoices in Oracle that are received in
APInvoice@dylt.com inbox.
• Process IC payments through driver pay in Truckmate.
• Research and process cartage invoices.
• Process invoices for line haul trips received by EDI through interline payables.
• Generate ACH and check payment requests in Oracle.
• Post online and wire payments.
• Collect credit card receipts, post the expenses, and process payment.
• Prepare and distribute weekly reports.
• Review and post expense reimbursement requests in ExponentHR.
• Work on special assignments as needed.

Job Title:  Senior Accountant

Summary: The primary focus of this position is to accurately record accounting transactions, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and produce financial statements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Providing support in completion of month-end close activities, compiling financial statements,

• Maintain current certificates of insurance for vendors.

Job Title:  Maintenance Coordinator   
Department:  Linehaul  
Location:   Fontana, California

Summary: The Maintenance Coordinator will ensure that the maintenance requirements for all rolling assets are met. The individual will be responsible for coordinating asset traffic between Service Centers to ensure each asset is properly positioned for maintenance. Additionally, the Maintenance Coordinator will also be responsible for managing maintenance costs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-
• Tracks and ensures assets are compliant on both State and Federal Department of Transportation maintenance regulations.
• Closely coordinate and oversee maintenance and performance of asset in multiple locations nationwide.
• Ensures that proper preventative maintenance is conducted on all assets in a timely manner to maximize utilization.
• Ensures that proper breakdown maintenance is conducted on all assets in a timely manner and of the highest standard of quality.
• Minimizes asset maintenance rework.

Job Title:  Continuous Process Improvement Analyst   
Department:  Continuous Improvement

Summary: In this role, the Continuous Process Improvement Analyst will assist the business with the identification, analysis, documentation, and implementation of process improvements focusing on increasing productivity, reducing costs, and improving efficiencies for the goal of increasing internal and external customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Manager of Continuous Improvement to deploy Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement across the organization
  • Lead process improvement initiatives with quantifiable and tangible results
  • Facilitate Kaizen, Value Stream events, or quick improvement workshop events that deliver quantifiable results
  • Perform analysis to determine root cause of process barriers, identify sources of inefficiencies, waste or excess costs, and develop recommendations for process improvements.
  • Conduct compliance audits to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
  • Assist in the development of continuous improvement project plans, monitor and report on KPI (Key Performance Index) performance
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects

Job Title: MANAGER, LINEHAUL ANALYTICS
Department: Linehaul
Location: Fontana, CA

JOB DUTIES: Responsible for all data and optimization projects for the Linehaul department, the management of the Linehaul fleet’s operations, and the direct and indirect management of the Linehaul employees at large. Work closely with the Linehaul Operations Manager to develop new performance metrics, optimize workflows, and lead strategic projects in the department. Specific duties include:

  • Extract information from the company’s database and build dashboards to measure and track department’s business performance.
  • Build mathematical and economic models incorporating internal and external data to predict demand and optimize routes.
  • Perform financial analysis to identify opportunities to maximize profitability of the fleet.
  • Make operational strategic recommendations on improving the profitability of the fleet and present the recommendations to senior management.
  • Manage multiple projects both operational and strategic to ensure timely delivery.
  • Drive the analytics and business intelligence function for stakeholders in the Linehaul department, as well as stakeholders from other departments.
  • Educate stakeholders on business intelligence tools to drive consistent usage.
  • Lead adoption of data management and analytics tools, as well as train team members to use the tools to make operational decisions.
  • Supervise the daily operation and maintenance of the Linehaul fleet.
  • Manage and expand fleet vendor relationships.
  • Build a marketing and marketing analytics program for the fleet to recruit owner-operators.
  • Create and monitor KPIs for the fleet to track and augment fleet performance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field, plus two (2) years of operations research analysis or related experience in data analytics consulting including experience collecting data from various platforms, performing data optimization, statistical analysis, and extraction of critical information from data; performing and interpreting statistical analyses to guide business decisions; and managing multiple projects and ensuring on-time delivery of products and services to clients or internal stakeholders.

SPECIFIC SKILLS: Position also requires experience or knowledge in:

SUMMARY:
Daylight is currently looking for a Safety and Compliance Administrator that will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Safety Department. The candidate for this role will be responsible for daily activities involving recordkeeping and qualifications as required by state and federal agencies, including but not limited to, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Health and Safety Administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain compliance records including but not limited to, DOT related files, rosters, accident register, hours of service logs, maintenance files and truck/vendor rosters.
  • Conduct daily compliance checks of safety compliance records, inspection reports and checklist for each Service Center.
  • Support the leadership team with OSHA compliance and communication, as needed.
  • Create and maintain weekly and monthly communication topics for the organization.

  • Generate and distribute reports on behalf of the Safety Department.

Account Executives are responsible for meeting revenue and profit goals in their given geography. Job Title: Safety and Compliance Supervisor

SUMMARY: Daylight is currently looking for a Safety and Compliance Supervisor to join our Family. The Safety and Compliance Supervisor will develop, implement, and administer policies and programs to establish and promote safety, environmental/transportation compliance and safe working conditions within the company. Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. May conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals and resources. Responsibilities include but are not limited to training employees, planning, appraising performance, addressing complaints, assisting Safety Manager with special projects, regulatory compliance (DOT, EPA, OSHA) and resolving safety related concerns for all employees within the workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Preform annual testing as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct and maintain a schedule of safety inspections for
  • Daylight Service Centers, including recommending corrective action plans and assisting SC managers in achieving compliance.
  • Assess the current condition of essential tools and equipment for drivers, dock and other workforces.
  • Vetting and managing partnerships with safety and security vendors.
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures that affect the safe utilization of all areas within the organization
  • Create, develop, maintain Safety Response Teams for all facilities within the organization. Ensure that proper training is provided to any employee/volunteer in compliance with company policies and procedures, OSHA/CALOSHA and state/federal regulations.
  • Work with Safety Manager to ensure best practices are in place, maintained, and updated as needed to meet compliance standards with OSHA, DOT or any other relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Manage all DOT Hours of Service, ELD, driver qualification and equipment compliance.
  • Create and maintain all OSHA documentation, logs, forums, safety materials and emergency supplies.
  • Create monitoring systems or programs to detect problems as early as possible.
  • Initiate interventions to solve problems in the areas of safety, security and compliance.
  • Initiate an active campaign on safety measures. Facilitate safety reviews for Drivers, Dock and Non-Dock workforce.
  • Prepare pertinent records and reports and immediate corrective action to address any safety hazards or security issues.
  • Act as liaison with key federal, state, and local organizations.
  • Plans, designs and executes disaster preparedness and emergency evacuation training and simulation exercises.
  • Conducts risk assessments of potential hazards in and develops corresponding action plans.
  • Assist in incident/accident investigations to get to the root cause of what caused the triggering event.
  • Guide and assist Safety Manager in conducting work investigations on injuries and near-misses, and ensure all contributing factors are thoroughly examined for the root cause and appropriate changes are implemented.
  • Audit facility practices and records periodically to ensure compliance with company programs and state/federal occupational safety/health and DOT regulations.
  • Work in collaboration with HR team in the administration of company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, implement, and conduct safety training programs in person and remotely.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and complete work and projects as scheduled.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of safety files and records.
  • Implement and administer workers compensation programs for company, assuring compliance with safety and WC policies.
  • Aid third party adjusters, legal counsel and claim managers relative to accidents and injuries.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) required. Two or more years of supervisor experience in working with a team. Ability to manage up. Working knowledge of Safety and OSHA preferred. DOT federal/state guidelines and other safety related certifications preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization. Bilingual in Spanish is highly desired.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. REASONING ABILITY- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must possess analytical skills and ability to think quickly.

OTHER SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS – Computer literate, PC and mainframe; Previous forklift experience a plus, must be able to have a flexible work schedule in order to meet compliance needs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience. Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment.

SUMMARY:
Daylight Transport is currently recruiting for an Operations Supervisor. Our Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a shift or section in a service center while maintaining and achieving the department/shift and service center and/or company standards for safety, quality, efficiency, cost, service and delivery, training and development and housekeeping. The supervisor must complete the various company and government forms utilized in freight movement such as shipping orders, city stripping manifests, freight bills, and exception forms. As Daylight continues to learn, innovate and succeed, the Supervisor will need to monitor shipment locations as freight moves through the various service centers while communicating continuously throughout the day with independent contractors, associates, customers and team members verbally and through other computer operating systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages all employee work schedules and time off requests.
  • Closely works with the Operations Manager/Assistant Manager and/or Service Center Manager to ensure alignment in meeting daily/weekly/monthly and yearly business objectives.
  • Conducts daily inspections to ensure compliance with local state, federal safety regulations, as well as OSHA in conjunction with the safety team.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in all areas of service center operations.
  • Knowledge of Truckmate system and any other computer/internal freight monitoring systems used.
  • Diligently monitors freight movement.
  • Complete forklift job training knowledge and uses a forklift as necessary within the service center.
  • Makes quick and informed decisions based on the volume levels and communicates schedule to affected employees by using manpower worksheet.
  • Works assigned shift/s as needed, must be available to work depending upon customer pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Monitors and evaluates the safety of each employee daily, trains on safety processes as needed.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and teaches employees safe forklift techniques as well as uses safe lifting as needed throughout the day.
  • Keeps strategic relations with Linehaul operations to monitor freight movement.
  • Manages, assigns employees around the dock to ensure proper utilization and development of employees, equipment, loading and unloading while meeting Daylight’s and customer expectations.
